Naturally Beautiful

When you think of the purpose of makeup, it is mostly to enhance our natural beauty. If this is true, why is it that we often use products that contain ingredients we cannot pronounce and may be potentially harmful to our skin?

Natural and organic makeup is no longer just for those who have sensitive skin allergies. There are many benefits to natural and organic makeup including:

* Organic foundation creams are generally non-clogging which allows your skin to breathe
* Virtually allergy free
* Contain anti-flammatory properties which keeps skin calm and even
* Do not contain direct dyes
* Do not contain talc
o Talc can dry out and dull skin
* Some organic products contain additional nourishing fruits and oil

With multiple natural and organic makeup lines, including Physician’s Formula, Sukicolo, Couleur Caramel, Elysambre, and Logona to name a few, there has been an increase in the market for these products. One common misconception is the high prices associated with natural and organic skin products. At skinbotanica.com, you can purchase a number of products from these lines ranging from eye shadows and lipsticks to mascara and foundation.

The Industrial Revolution provided the shift of mass consumption of clothing and styles to mass production. In that same sense, technological advances are making it easier to produce safer and eco-friendly products to satisfy the increasing desire of consumers for these products.

I have some make up from Physician’s Formula. I feel that it is somewhat better than other brand named make up, despite the icky smell. My only critique is that some of Physician’s Formula makeup is more expensive than other brands such as Revlon, Cover Girl, etc. (All of those brands are like one buy one get one free now). This reminds me of how people promote good health when healthy food is expensive while unhealthy food is cheap. Going organic, I feel, is somewhat a way for companies to get the green.
