Week 2 of Challenge
ASA141
Being one week into the Be Green challenge, the only thing I purchased was a clear fanny pack that I did absolutely need due to the clear bag rule at a concert I was attending at the end of the week. It slipped my mind to purchase this item earlier on, and when I came to sit down to write this blog entry today I realized that I had made this purchase while being a part of this challenge. I had honestly almost all but forgotten about my participation in this challenge aside from knowing I had assignments related to it, so I could have easily purchased something else aside from what I did need. I was relieved to know that I hadn't already failed this challenge only one week into it. After this realization, though, I'm definitely going to remember my commitment to this challenge moving forward. I had already planned ahead and anticipated most of my apparel purchases for the rest of the school year, so I shouldn't have any chances to be tempted or to slip up because I forgot about this challenge altogether.
To follow up on some things that I have been wondering in the past few weeks of this class is how to be able to support slow fashion as opposed to fast fashion while on a college student budget. I found this video from YouTube to be helpful in answering that question, especially because the girl who made this video is the same person that our professor showed us in class. I appreciate that she is a college student, has a style that I like and that this video is fairly recent so it is definitely relevant to me.
