Week 2
Christian Funk
A week into this thing and I'm feeling pretty good. Just as I thought, I'm right on track and not feeling pressured to break. As I observe the world around me and the people too, I don't think to myself ,"I need that" or "I need to buy that." Alternatively, I think more of ,"How can I recreate that with what I've already got?" I've already recognized and expressed this but I do identify that I have enough, I don't need any more.
Not spending money on more clothes helps me save more money. As I spend less on things, I can use that saved money on doing things --activites with friends, eating out, drinks. I think of the monetary aspect of the habit of buying clothes from a part in Good Hair. They explain how much money consistently is spent on women's hair and hair products. This habit is seen as absolutely necessary, no ifs, ands, or buts. What habits can I analyze of my own that I believe to be absolutely necessary. Are these habits harmful? Can I replace these habits with a better alternative?
The habit of retail consumerism is a huge ordeal for lots of people. I'm pretty good about this as I like to thrift, receive passed down clothes, and repurpose/customize older goods. So far, so good --bring it on.
